Endoscopic-assisted treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome
From April 2002 to April 2003, in 14 patients with carpal tunnel syndrome on 18 sides, under local or brachial plexus block anesthesia, a small incision of 1 cm in length was made in the wrist and placed in front of the median nerve" V"-shaped groove, under the assisted observation of endoscope, confirm the flexor retinaculum and cut it with a push knife. Results On the 1st day after the operation, 8 patients reported that the original numbness of the hand had disappeared, and 6 patients had the original numbness of the hand significantly improved; no obvious complications occurred. Postoperative follow-up was 2 to 4 years, with an average of 3.4 years. According to Kelly grading standard, the excellent and good rate was 100%. The scar on the wrist was small, and the patient was very satisfied with the surgical results. Conclusion The use of "V"-shaped groove in the endoscopic-assisted surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome has the advantages of less trauma, quick postoperative recovery, no obvious complications and satisfactory long-term efficacy.
